Angela Evelyn Bassett (born April 15, 1961) is an American actress. Known for her work in TV and film in the 1980s, she's been awarded numerous awards like two Golden Globe Awards and sixteen NAACP Image Awards in addition to nominations for two Academy Awards and seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett was raised by her aunt in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Her birthplace was and raised within New York New York. Bassett relocated with her older sister St. Petersburg Florida at the age of five in order to be closer to their mother, who was separated from her father. Bassett, while in high-school watched John Steinbeck's play Of Mice and Men with James Earl Jones and she was inspired to be an actor. She attended Yale University New Haven Connecticut and graduated with a bachelor's degree (1980) with a major in African American studies and a master's degree (1983) from the Yale School of Drama. In 1997, she got married to Courtney B. Vance who was also an actor. Qualification: B.A. Master of Arts (Afro-American study) in the year 1980. A Master of Fine Arts (Drama) from Yale School of Drama School. Angela Bassett currently works in one of her lead characters, Ramonda, in the action-adventure film i.e. Black Panther Wakanda forever 2022.
